Event Connect becomes official supplier to 2019 Solheim Cup

Transport service provider Event Connect has been announced as the Official Coach Supplier to The 2019 Solheim Cup, taking place at Gleneagles, Scotland from 9-15 September.

Event Connect, part of the Abellio Group, will provide coaches and drivers to transport Solheim Cup players, staff and media during the event, including the European and American teams, the PING Junior Solheim Cup teams, rules officials, VIPs and dignitaries.

The team coaches will be wrapped in Solheim Cup branding, making them easily noticeable as they take the best players in the world to Gleneagles and around Perthshire during the week.

Event Connect is no stranger to large, high-profile sporting events, haven previously been a supplier of the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham in 2018. Nadia Hutcheson

The Solheim Cup will be screened to more than 600 million homes worldwide with the match play format aiming to engage both the traditional golf audience as well as wider sports fans, raising the profile of women’s golf both in Scotland and internationally.

The Scottish Government’s aspiration is that The 2019 Solheim Cup is the biggest ever European edition of the event and the most family-focused golf event in history with around 100,000 spectators expected at Gleneagles.
